Lentejas (Spanish lentil bean soup)

I got this recipe from Antonio, a Spanish guy from Granada at my work.

Ingredients:
- 1 onion
- 1 greep pepper
- 1 large tomato, peeled (or two medium)
- 1 or 2 chorizos, cut into slices
- 250 grams of lentils
- 1 big spoonful of salt and coloring

Optional ingredients:
- fried short ribs (add at the beginning)
- 2 or 3 carrots (add at the beginning)
- green beens (add at the beginning)
- potatoes (add when you mix the vegetables)
- rice (add during the last 15 minutes)

Directions:
1. In a pan, put a little oil, onion, green peper, tomato, chorizo, lentejas, and salt.
2. Salt for 1 or 2 minutes.
3. Add water until the pan is about half full.
4. Bring to a boil.
5. Simmer for 40 minutes.
6. Remove tomato, onion, and green pepper and blend them together. Then, return the mixture to the pan.
7. Add a pinch of salt.
8. Simmer for 30 more minutes.
9. Test that the amount of salt is to your liking, and that the lentils are the correct texture.
